2. What this website is
This website is a static page describing an open-source toolkit. It has no user accounts, no forms, no comment function, no embedded videos, maps or social media widgets, and no cookies. All files it loads — stylesheet, scripts, images, icons — come from this domain.
3. Data processed when you visit
Server logs
The site is hosted by Netlify (Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open a page, your browser automatically transmits technical data to the hosting provider: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, HTTP status code, bytes transferred, referrer, browser and operating system. This data is technically necessary to deliver the page and to operate it securely.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website). Transfers to the USA are covered by Netlify's standard contractual clauses. More information: Netlify privacy policy.
Theme preference
If you switch the colour scheme (light/dark), your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key sis-theme. This value never leaves your browser and is not transmitted anywhere. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
4. Cookies and reach measurement
This website sets no cookies and uses no advertising, no profiling and no cross-site tracking. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Fathom Analytics
To see whether this page is read at all, it measures page views with Fathom Analytics. Fathom works without cookies, without local storage and without a device fingerprint, and it does not follow you across websites.
Recorded per visit: the page called up, the referrer, an approximate location at country level, plus browser and operating system in generalised form. Your IP address is used only to derive the country and is not stored. No profile is created, and no data is passed on for advertising.
Purpose: measuring reach in aggregate, so the content can be improved. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding whether and how the site is used, using the least intrusive means available).
Processing runs on Fathom's EU infrastructure; the data stays in the EU. Provider: Conva Ventures Inc., Canada, as our processor. Fathom publishes its own privacy policy and describes there what it does and does not collect.
If you do not want to be counted: switch on Do Not Track in your browser. The measurement is set up to honour that signal — no page view is then sent. Blocking cdn.usefathom.com in a content blocker works too. The page behaves exactly the same either way.
5. The toolkit itself
The Survey Insight Skills toolkit is software you download and run yourself, from GitHub. Running it does not involve this website. Your survey data stays in your own folder; there is no upload to this site or to any analytics service. Note the honest limit: the questions you ask and the data needed to answer them are processed by whichever AI coding agent you use, under that provider's own terms and privacy policy.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21) with respect to your personal data.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority here is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia.
